Description

en A pair of carved doors, "each of rectangular form, the central tall vertical panel flanked above and below by smaller panels, one door with central door post to cover the join, the central panel of each with a geometric interlace design of strapwork, the polygons thus formed slightly raised and deeply carved with floral designs, the upper panel with an arcaded design containing similar floral designs, the lower panel with a cusped similar medallion on a fish-scale ground, all within linked floral motif borders, the cross-bars between the main panels each with a very elegant inscription, the centre-post with fish-scale design, the expanded upper and lower ends with floral designs, traces of polychrome, mounted together on metal base, overall 180 x 106 cm."
