Nach Hillenbrand in Golombek/ Wilber (1988, 439) weist der Kenotaph eine Koran-Inschrift auf, die undatiert ist. In einem früheren, kurzen Artikel (Hillenbrand 1970, 205) schreibt er: "A much earlier dating, [...], seems required for the delightful circular red brick tomb tower locally known as that of Darvish Muhammad, near Pul-i Safid, though its shattered sarcophagus is probably roughly contemporary with that of the nearby imamzada at Sut Kola, dated 1429." Sollte die bei Sotheby's London (30.4. 1992) verkaufte Kenotaph-Schmalseite von dem Kenotaph in Pul-i Safid stammen - was m.E. wahrscheinlich ist -, wäre die Information bei Hillenbrand (1970, 205) nicht korrekt, da die Inschrift auf der Schmalseite des Scheinsarkophags ein Datum enthält: Rabi I. 856/ beg. 22. März 1452.
