Der Kenotaph, an dem zahlreiche Veränderungen (Reparaturen etc.) vorgenommen wurden, weist (heute) keine eindeutige Schauseite auf. Das Verhältnis von breitem Rahmenwerk (oben und unten) und eingesetzten Paneelen ist ungewöhnlich. Alle vier Seiten zeigen Paneele mit geometrischem Dekor, dem vergleichsweise einfache Ornamente zugrunde liegen, die z.T. untypisch für timuridische Holzarbeiten sind.

Der Kenotaph weist eine lange Inschrift auf, die den Auftraggeber, die Namen der Handwerker und das Datum nennt. Das ursprünglich 777 H. gelesene Datum wurde durch V. Minorsky (1931, 26) korrigiert auf Ramadan 877 (beg. 30. Januar - 28. Februar 1473).
